POSITION SUMMARY

The Procurement Manager is a pivotal role within an organization, as effective procurement can lead to cost savings and competitive advantages. They are responsible for developing and implementing strategies that drive efficiency, cost reduction, and compliance while ensuring the availability of necessary goods and services.

  • Responsible for improving data, reporting, processes, and communication, both within procurement and between procurement and other departments to solve operational problems
  • Responsible for supporting purchasing activities and maintaining databases, documenting and communicating evolving policies
  • Responsible for identifying and advocating for process inquiries and system issues that support improvement opportunities among the broader P2P initiatives


Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree in business, supply chain, finance, or equivalent required or a related field
  • Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, with a track record of successful leadership
  • A minimum of ten years of experience with a procure-to-pay process
  • Experience working with purchasing systems, like Coupa, is a plus
  • Experience using any reporting and analytic tools, such as Tableau/Power BI, SQL, and SSRS, is a plus
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements in procurement


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Identify and support improvements to the end-to-end purchasing process, including supplier onboarding, contracting, and purchase order management
  • Regularly update internal databases with new prospective suppliers, vendors, contacts, contracts, credit accounts, and other information to inform sourcing decisions
  • Work in partnership with the accounting/AP team on resolving any missed or late payments, and address any root cause in our processes
  • Create customized reports for trend analysis, spend distribution and comparison to be used for executive-level business decisions
  • Track, measure, report, and evaluate vendor performance in the context of existing contractual obligations
  • Organize and track contractual documentation between the company and vendors
  • Ensure completeness of the contract's repository
  • Recruit, train, and manage procurement staff


POSITION REQUIREMENTS


A minimum of 10 years of experience in all Supply Chain/Procurement functions within a construction or manufacturing environment is required. Coupa Spend Management Platform experience is a plus. Must be flexible to travel to perform procurement and management duties at satellite locations.

The incumbent must be flexible and able to quickly learn the systems used by the organization; possess exceptional leadership qualities; possess the ability to evaluate and assess current procurement needs; develop recommendations to accommodate future corporate growth; be an effective communicator; and have the interpersonal skills to interface effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS


The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.

As may be occasionally required in performing the duties of this position, the individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes a hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, personal flotation devices, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and the location where the work is being done.

Incumbents must also have the ability to 1) identify critical issues and formulate action plans with all levels of corporate management, 2) develop and foster a positive work environment at all levels, and 3) resolve conflicts through problem-solving skills.
