Position: Staffing Manager Hiring for both Dover AND Wilmington locations
Reports To: Administrative Assistant
Position Summary: Manages the coordination/staffing department to achieve its purpose. i.e., to assign staff to clients according to their needs as identified in the Plan of Care.
Services are scheduled to cover all client needs in 24-hour period, and changes are communicated to clients, direct care staff, and supervisor,
Assesses the Agency s recruitment needs and participates in the hiring of staffing personnel and direct care staff.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age
Must be a citizen of United States
Must pass ALL State Registry Checks, and background checks,
Must pass drug test
Must have at least #3 years experience in staffing or related field, preferably including home health care.
Must have previous supervisory experience and a knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred.
Must Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well with people of all ethnic groups.
Must be a self-starter in scheduling and conflict resolution for consumers and field staff.
Must Demonstrate Organization and time management skills.
Must Demonstrate skills in problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution, and the ability to work independently.
Must speak, write, and understand English.
Personal computer and data entry skills.
Essential Functions/Areas of Accountability
Assures that clients request for service are staffed in accordance with needs identified in the Plan of Care and client preferences, and that adequate numbers of staff are available.
*All cases are staffed per schedule.
*Clients and appropriate staff are informed of the schedule.
*Monitors staff availability and hiring needs
*Receives and responds to ill/absent calls and provides coverage appropriately.
*Participates in the evaluation and performance review of direct care staff.
Provides direction and supervision to team of staffing coordinators.
*Participates in the hiring for the coordination unit
*Trains new coordinators and provides training, mentoring etc. in the area of developmental need.
*Develops work schedules for coordinator staff including on call responsibilities.
Implements adequate workflow systems, monitoring mechanisms, and control mechanisms.
*Assures that paperwork/ data entry is completed in a accurate and timely manner.
*Communicates Agency s staff needs to the Supervisor regularly and as need to assure adequate levels of available staff.
*Collaborates with intake coordinator to assure staff are available to respond to new client intake.
*Participates and communicates with other dept. to assure that Agency tasks are accomplished (billing, payroll, and information system)
Communicates necessary information about employee, and clients to Nurse Supervisor, Finance dept., and other interoffice personnel.
Maintains daily logs.
Participates in the hiring, orientation, and development of management and field staff.
Assists in implementing Competency Evaluations and education follow up testing.
Provides clerical support to the Administrator.
Assists with the hiring process for all staff members which includes but not limited to initial telephone screening for applicants, review of resumes and references, as well as face to face interview interaction.
Monitors employee s hours, tardiness, and absenteeism.
Follows GWCC guidelines for disciplinary issues. Properly documents all disciplinary events.
Reports any missing or incomplete documents to ensure completion is achieved.
Completes monthly schedules for all field staff.
Keep s an ongoing log for supervisor visits.
Completes all employee evaluations.
May perform additional duties and/or responsibilities that may be deemed necessary per the Administrator.
