Job Title: Solid Waste Engineer


Location: Various office locations throughout California

They are currently seeking a dedicated Solid Waste Engineer to join our team and contribute to our mission.


Job Description: As a Solid Waste Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing diverse solid waste projects across California. Your responsibilities will include project management, business development, and staff development. You will work on a hybrid schedule, supporting projects, developing proposals, and engaging with public and private clients. The primary focus will be on solid waste management, covering landfill gas, landfills and landfill infrastructure, composting, and other related projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply extensive knowledge of engineering and scientific principles in solid waste assignment areas.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
  • Independently make decisions on engineering problems, coordinate work, and represent the company at meetings and conferences.
  • Conduct field work, including surveys, data gathering, inspections, etc., in varied terrain and weather conditions.
  • Perform office-based tasks such as CAD drafting, report writing, and permit applications.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client meetings, and attending industry-related events.
  • Receive technical guidance on complex problems and seek supervisory approval for proposed plans or projects.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant working knowledge or demonstrated consulting experience in the solid waste industry, including landfill gas management, air compliance, and landfill design and permitting.
  • E.I.T. required; California P.E. (civil) registration or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Compensation: $80,000 - $150,000 (Depending On Experience)
