Summary of Job



Pregis is seeking to hire an experienced, hands-on Materials Manager to lead the next phase of development of our machine building operations. Working in our world class discreet manufacturing environment in Tulsa OK, the successful candidate will possess (1) experience in a manufacturing company of relevant size and complexity, (2) a superior working knowledge of production and material planning, (3) expertise in SIOP (sales, inventory, & operations planning), (4) experience in the end-to-end supply chain in a business with B2B relationships and dependence on commodity component supply; and (5) a distinctive track record of leading significant operational change and financial results across an enterprise that optimizes cost, quality, and service. The position will manage a local team of 6 dedicated team members.




Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Master Planning: Integrates sales orders with master schedule per budgetary guidelines; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.
  • Supply side coordinator for SIOP (sales, inventory, & operations planning) working with Category Management, Corporate Procurement, Operations and overseeing planning and local purchasing to make long-range production plans.
  • Manages Project Coordination team for all enterprise accounts working with Field Service Team, Client Advocates, Production Supervisors, Purchasing, and Site Services.
  • Maintains master distribution schedule for the assigned facility; revises as needed and alerts appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays.
  • Manages purchase order creation and production order process to ensure demand is satisfied on time and on budget. Confers with corporate procurement, vendors and production supervision to resolve problems affecting production schedules.
  • Participates in monthly Demand forecasting meetings with sales, category management, and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff as needed. Liaison between Tulsa and other Pregis divisions regarding build requirements (Europe and Sharp).
  • Communicate production forecast with Corporate Procurement and suppliers to ensure adequate supply to fulfil requirements.
  • Partner with Corporate Procurement team to maintain vendor relationship, inventory control and establish vendor development strategies.
  • Works with the Operations Manager on detailed production planning for all machine and custom component and accessory systems build.
  • Coordinate with Operations teams to ensure accuracy of inventory of parts and machines.
  • Works with Corporate procurement and R&D teams on sourcing of specialty equipment and materials.
  • Ensures that all contact administration procedures are followed and executed accurately and professionally.
  • Owns, develops, and directs all process SOP s for SAP SD, MM, PP systems.
  • Manage and develop team members to maximize performance and retention.




Competency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)



  • Must have a strong understanding of Master Planning, Scheduling Strategies, and Inventory control practices.
  • Prior experience participating and leading a SIOP process to drive decision making.
  • Must have experience and extensive knowledge in SAP SD ATP, Independent requirements planning, Capacity planning and SAP material requirement planning.
  • Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate in person, video calls and through Power Point presentations with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced environment. Develop and follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.
  • Strong Supervisory and team development skills. Ability to function as influencer and promote positive change even without direct responsibility.




Education and Experience



  • Bachelor s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent required. Some college with relevant experience will be considered.
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience with proven track record of escalating responsibility and supervision of direct report is required.
  • APICS (CPIM, CSCP), CSOP, PMP certification a plus.
