Our Mississippi operation is currently experiencing tremendous growth and has a career opportunity in Flowood for an experienced Transportation Engineer. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, flexible, organized, and attentive to detail, with strong time management, writing and people skills.
****TYPICAL DUTIES****
* Perform engineering calculations and create estimates
* Develop drawings by modifying or replicating a prior project, applying changes and corrections from redlined drawings, and/or creating drawings from sketches of others or from own design
* Interpret and understand drawings from multiple disciplines for specific projects and respond to requests for information regarding same
* Conduct field inspections and surveys, investigate variables, obtain measurements, photographs, videos, and take notes; write reports documenting same
* Will provide management for design and plan production for transportation projects
* Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures, using own judgement to make adaptations and modifications to existing designs
* Submit concept designs and work through approval processes such as permits from municipalities
* Independently coordinates the work of other engineers and designers during project development
* Coordinate with in-house and external consultants and/or subcontractors
* Coordinate information flow to and from clients
* Ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards
* Complies with federal, state, and local code and regulatory requirements by researching existing and new policies; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
* Assist in preparation of materials for proposals such as expectations for deliverables and/or budget analysis and billing of projects
****QUALIFICATIONS****
* BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
* Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Required
* Professional Engineer (PE) certification Preferred
* 4 - 6 years of experience in the roadway design/construction projects required
* A working knowledge of Mississippi Department of Transportation Standards
* Experience in MicroStation and InRoads software desired
