EASTERN TITLE DIVISION

The successful applicant for this position will be responsible for providing financial leadership and managing the accounting & finance functions for an operating unit of a national title insurance company. This includes providing the collection, review, analysis, and distribution of financial and operating information essential to the oversight and management of the operating unit.

The person selected for this role will be part of the corporate finance team with 4 areas of responsibility. Each area includes a mix of leadership and hands-on work:

Responsible for all accounting issues, financial analysis, and internal control functions throughout operating division.

Support division leadership with ongoing reporting, measurement, and analysis.

Act as a liaison between division management, local administrative staff and corporate finance for all finance and accounting matters. This includes maintenance and monitoring of all division financial controls and financial systems.

Serve as an integral part external reporting process. Assist corporate finance team with close process.

This position requires in-office attendance in Tampa, FL. Remote candidates are not being considered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage division PL and balance sheet to ensure timely accurate monthly reporting:

PL analysis and measurement of key operating metrics/drivers.

Coordinate monthly close process with operating offices and corporate finance team.

Review and approve journal entries.

Oversee division balance sheet accounts, including management of accounts receivable.

Oversee division commissions and manage related accruals.

Monitor reporting of revenue, along with related receivables, cash receipts, and orders.

Identify best practices, and opportunities for process improvement.

Respond to various regulatory data calls.

Responsible for timely submission of division closing package.

Assist with implementation of operational enhancements, and cost savings initiatives.

Work with locations as needed to integrate local accounting systems and procedures with Company month-end reporting process.

Review monthly cash reconciliations for compliance with internal controls and ensuring that reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner.

Ensure unclaimed property reporting to respective states.

Coordination of the annual budgeting and business planning process

Perform company and industry research, financial analysis.

Measure and report weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually key performance criteria and business metrics for each operating unit.

Serve as main contact for division office accounting and internal control-related matters.

Assist regional management with coordination of internal audits responses to findings.

Monitor independent agent reporting ensuring compliance with the Company policies.

Assist in ongoing adoption and enhancements to Workday ERP and other financial systems. Includes, designing related internal control and procedures.

Assist in evaluating office renewals and relocations, loans, guarantees, indemnities, and other similar projects.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Four-year Accounting degree (CPA preferred) with a minimum of 7 years work experience required and a thorough knowledge of GAAP.

Experience in title insurance or property insurance is a plus.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to prioritize, organize and handle multiple projects.

Must have strong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products and have an interest in learning other automated applications.

Experience with Workday GL package and Office Connect preferred.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS (if applicable):

15% to 25% travel required.

Must be able to work extended hours as duties demand.

Must be able to work with confidential and sensitive information.

Must be personable, positive, and a professional representative of the Company.
