Unit Sales Person Power Generation (ED)


Job Details

WPI Unit Sales Person is responsible for retention of existing customer base with continued sales growth. Sources and grows sales with new business opportunities within assigned market area/territory utilizing WPI's complete power generation product lines. This position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who can work effectively with a variety of people

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the sales and marketing of power generation products into all verticals within commercial and industrial markets of assigned territory
  • Responsible for formulating bids and preparing proposals through evaluating job specific requirements and/or job specifications
  • Identifies and acquires new market opportunities
  • Provides coverage and support of existing customer base
  • Receives and processes customer orders; serves as the customer main contact point
  • Interact and maintain relationships with WPI's power generation vendors
  • Service and maintain company account database on a regular basis
  • Prepares territory sales and call plans, sales reports, market analysis reports, expense, and sales activity reports
  • Collaborates with peers, vendors and other departments to generate sales leads
  • Work closely with other WPI departments to facilitate an excellent customer sales experience.
  • Assists in familiarizing customer on equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 year(s) previous sales experience
  • Preferred 1 year customer support experience
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, and Bachelor's Degree in applied discipline preferred
  • Knowledge of Generac Power Systems highly preferred


Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of a Microsoft Office; namely Power Point and Excel

  • Possess and maintain the following skills: Excellent attention to detail, good problem solving skills, strong organizational skills, collaborating skills, interpersonal skills, and logical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic team environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines


Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 8m. to 5 p.m.
  • Some occasional extended hours may be required.
  • Must have the ability to travel and stay overnight.
  • Office work.
