Aerospace Inspector

Location: Kent, WA

Salary: $44.40/hr

Industry: Aerospace/Manufacturing

Employment Type: 6 month assignment w/ potential for extension or conversion

Shift: Monday through Thursday, 5am-3:30pm.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma, accredited GED, or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components. 5+ years of experience inspecting aerospace components with precision hand tools, Articulating Romer ARM and/or CMMS.
  • Superior blueprint reading skills.
  • Fluent in the use of precision hand tools, gages, optical comparator, and surface plate work.
  • Experience inspecting tight tolerance, high value components.
  • In-depth knowledge of GD&T.
  • Knowledge and utilization of nonconformance processes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiar with the use of personal computers.
  • Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Desired knowledge of Polyworks and Spatial Analyzer PC DMIS NC on machine inspection.
  • Faro and Verisurf knowledge.
  • Basic machining knowledge.
  • Familiar with Mastercam, preferably X6 or higher.
  • Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.)
  • Troubleshooting, Root cause and corrective action analysis experience.
  • Understand the department KPI s metrics to improve performance.
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-2018 standard.
  • Strong communication skills with a heavy customer focus.
  • Must have a continuous improvement attitude.
  • Clear understanding of production versus development environments
  • Familiar with use of personal computers
  • Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily part inspection using state of the art Hexagon Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM).
  • Using PC-DMIS software to Program and Parsec for FAI data collections.
  • Perform manual inspections.
  • Identify quality problems and recommend solutions.
  • Calibrate, validate, or maintain equipment.
  • Write or revise standard quality control operating procedures.
  • Evaluate analytical methods and procedures to determine how they might be improved.
  • Perform visual inspections of finished products.
  • Receive and inspect raw materials.
  • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release.
  • Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols.
  • Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions.
  • Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures, including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms.
  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.
