Accounting Manager


Job Details

Cape Cod's only double Forbes Five-Star resort is seeking an Accounting Manager. This role will report to the Area Director of Finance and Area Assistant Controller. The position requires excellent verbal communication and team engagement skills. The individual must ensure that the voice of the resort is properly conveyed in an engaging and refined manner employing all resort standards and those outlined by Forbes Travel Guide.

The Accounting Manager's position is responsible but not limited to:

* Complete daily bank and cash reconciliation.

* Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliation.

* Balance and report daily revenues and special events.

* Review and manage labor alongside the management team.

* General cashiering and tracking house banks.

* Review, investigate, and analyze General Ledger variances. Call attention to trends and collect information.

* Assist with the month-end and year-end closing process?including?uploading?any journals and reporting.

* Review and execute financial processes and procedures throughout the resort.

* Ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets and improve operations and profitability.

* Assist employees and?third parties?with accounting-related inquiries.

* Manage the finance and accounting staff?to ensure efficient operation.

* Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision-making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example.

* Perform duties, special assignments, and projects as requested by management.

Job requirements:

* Must have 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting within the hospitality or similar industry.

* Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience required.

* Advance proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.

* Up to date with USALI knowledge.

* Experience with ProfitSword, Acumatica, Birchstreet, and Hotel Effectiveness preferred but not required.

The role requires the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities. The individual must have a high energy level and the ability to be creative and think independently. Excellent organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills are a must.
