Candidate must be local to Columbus, Ohio for consideration.
MUST HAVE:
- Valid Driver's License.
- Vehicle or Transportation.
- Educational Aide Permit- (or willing to obtain)
- Flexibility to work weekdays, after school, evenings, summer camps, and on call hours.
Essential Functions:
- Assisting blind or deaf Pre-K 12 students with navigating through educational programs focused on academics, vocational, independent living, transitional, and social growth.
- Redirecting student focus when difficulties/distractions arise.
- Supervising students in classroom cafeteria, hallways, playground, restroom.
- Escorting blind or deaf students to different areas of the school.
- Assisting in emergency situations.
- Assisting students with emotional, physical, and personal needs.
- Assisting in day-to-day general tasks.
- Participate in Professional Development Training or Continuing Education Training on days school is closed.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years as a Home Healthcare Aide or Classroom Student Aide experience.
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or Special Education preferred.
- Experience working with autistic, or MD children preferred.
- Ability to clear federal background check and drug screen.
- CPI Certification Preferred.
- CPR Certification.
