Pay: $18+/hr. DOE

Hours: Friday- Sunday 5AM-5:30PM OR 5:30PM-5AM

Job Description:

The plasma cutting machine operator will be tasked with the precise cutting of metal plates and structural shapes, adhering to specified dimensions, contours, and bevels as delineated in blueprints, layouts, work orders, and templates. Responsibilities include lifting, positioning, and securely clamping metal stock onto the machine bed, utilizing both manual techniques and assistance from overhead or jib cranes. Must have proficiency in selecting and installing plasma tips, calculating gas pressure and mixture, and determining cutting speed based on metal type and thickness is essential, relying on data charts or referencing previous cuts. Additionally, flexibility in adjusting machine controls, either manually or through command inputs, to rectify malfunctions or deviations from tolerance specifications is required. Collaborating with supervisors or programming personnel to troubleshoot control media errors and effectively resolve issues is also part of the role. Furthermore, the position entails material handling duties, potentially involving the operation of industrial forklifts.
