Description
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Fitness Zone Director, Fitness Zone Attendants will aid in maintaining comprehensive programs and/or projects related to the fitness area. The Fitness Zone is open 86 hours over a 7 days per week in the designated area of the CMEAEVT with separate rooms containing state of the art cardio equipment, sectorized resistance equipment, free weights, modified gym area, and men's and women's locker rooms.
Normal work time will be determined by the Fitness Zone Director according to the needs during operating hours of the Fitness area; lunch and breaks will be dictated by workload. Regular attendance is required to perform the functions of this position. The incumbent(s) will maintain a customer-oriented awareness in acknowledging and responding to needs as they occur to assure that customer satisfaction is always met.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and ensure check in for all Fitness Zone members
- Provide information about the facility to members and potential members
- Assist with registration of and accurately process new memberships, renewals, changes and cancellations
- Monitor all activities within the Fitness Zone
- Assist in regular maintenance/cleaning of the facilities and equipment
- Maintain facility cleanliness and make sure all equipment is racked in the proper place
- Enforce all Fitness Zone policies and procedures in a consistent and respectful manner
- Attend all staff meetings and training when necessary
- Provide assistance to all members in a safe and helpful manner on basic use of equipment and interpretation of Fitness Zone policies
- Communicate regularly with the management of the Fitness Zone and provide additional assistance when requested
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree or minimum 2 years of coursework towards baccalaureate degree
- Basic understanding of general physical fitness principles, fitness facility operations, and CPR/AED certification
