Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment on a surface mine site
  • Safely service heavy equipment as required and directed
  • Complete equipment inspections, report repairs required and assist in scheduling repairs
  • Operate fuel/service truck safely and efficiently
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of service kits, lubes, oils, and other supplies
  • Coordinate equipment service activities with production and maintenance team members
  • Support Mechanics with repairs
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
  • Be a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Minimum one-year experience of heavy equipment maintenance is required
  • Knowledge of parts and servicing of Cat, Hitachi & Komatsu equipment
  • Must have valid photo identification
  • MSHA p.48 metal/nonmetal ticket is required; training and support is provided to obtain or update certificates if needed
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol capability testing

Work Conditions

  • Ability to work overtime if required
