We are searching for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Parts Counter Advisor to join our Town Toyota parts team. As a Parts Counter Advisor, you will be responsible for assisting customers and technicians in identifying and acquiring the necessary parts they need. Your primary goal will be to ensure accurate and timely parts transactions, foster positive customer relationships, and maximize sales and revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers with their part inquiries, always providing exceptional customer service.
- Identify customers needs by actively listening to their requirements and effectively communicating potential solutions.
- Evaluate customers parts requests to accurately locate, quote, and sell the appropriate part or component.
- Provide technical assistance to customers and technicians as required, guiding them in selecting the right parts for their specific needs, while accurately invoicing the parts.
- Effectively utilize computerized systems to retrieve and provide accurate information, such as part numbers, availability, pricing, and alternative options.
- Order parts from suppliers as needed, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Organize and maintain the parts inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels, proper labeling, and effective cataloging of parts.
- Collaborate with coworkers retrieve requested parts for customer pick-up or delivery.
- Process parts returns, exchanges, and core returns adhering to company policies and procedures, while diligently tracking lost sales by following all parts department procedures.
- Continuously build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and increase customer loyalty.
- Stay up to date with product knowledge and industry trends to provide accurate information and recommendations to customers.
- Assist in and operate forklift for moving parts inventory.
- Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge of the industry and related parts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in automotive, equipment, or related parts sales is preferred.
- Proven knowledge of automotive parts and components, understanding their function and application.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods if required.
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screen
Work Environment:
As part of the essential duties of a Parts Counter Advisor, this position requires certification and operation of a forklift and/or a scissor lift. The employee s essential duties are such that impairment caused by drug or alcohol could result in significant injury or death.
