ABOUT THE JOB
As the General Manager of our Fall River Plant, you will be responsible for building a cohesive management team while leading daily manufacturing operations and ensuring activities run effectively and efficiently. Our GM will be a proven change agent balancing strategic and tactical responsibilities and promoting teamwork, delegation, and individual accountability. Responsibilities also include developing and executing of operational strategies, goals, and objectives to support our five-year operations strategic plan. You ll also support and drive continuous improvement and optimization of the plant. Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to meet or exceed our customers expectations; utilize lean/continuous improvement methodologies.
- Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping; allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Responsible for collaborating with the sales and marketing team to develop innovative products and support the expanding market presence through new sales channels and regions.
- Increase production, capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs including overtime, waste and scrap
- Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing and inspection operations to ensure products conform to established quality standards
- Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus; build team atmosphere, coach and mentor direct reports
- Manage performance and development of plant staff
- Build momentum around our Values and positive work culture
- Commit to plant safety procedures; ensure adequate training and overall safety culture
- Stay current with the latest manufacturing technology and production management best practices and concepts
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- BA/BS in Business Management, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- 5+ years of Manufacturing Management, preferably in medical device or manufacturing services
- Minimum of 3 years of Senior Management experience successfully managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer
- EMI/RFI Shielding manufacturing experience is a plus
- Strong understanding and prior successful experience using techniques and supporting business applications to improve manufacturing efficiency, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for success as this role will require successful cross functional coordination across organizational levels internally and externally
- Strong team building, decision-making, and people management; ability to motivate teams, lead by example and create accountability.
- Represent the company in a professional manner to employees, customers, and vendors
