Title:
Music Therapist
Goal:
To improve student outcomes by implementing a music therapy program for students and actively participate as a member of the student's educational teams and the school community.
Reports to:
NTDSE Administrator
Qualifications:
- Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)
- Advanced Training preferred, not required (e.g., NMT, NR, Masters-level)
District/Job Information: NTDSE is a special education cooperative servicing students with low-incidence disabilities ages 3-22. Our student population is comprised of students with a variety of disabilities including, but not limited to, autism, cerebral palsy, cognitive disabilities, vision impairments, and social/emotional disabilities. Students are from school districts 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 73.5, and 74 in the northern Chicago suburbs including Skokie, Morton Grove, Lincolnwood, and Niles.
Music therapists provide music therapy to students at our therapeutic day school (the Molloy Education Center) and within NTDSE classrooms located within the local public schools.
We are seeking a full-time music therapist to join our team of music therapists in providing individualized, programmatic, and IEP-based music therapy through large group, small group, and individual sessions. All NTDSE programs are team-based and there are ample opportunities for collaboration and co-treatment with other educators.
