Objectives of this Role:

  • Loads and unloads Inbound and Outbound Freight on to Motor Freight trucks. Prepares shipments for outbound, large freight, small packages, letters.
  • Check condition of containers and contents prior to acceptance of shipments and for shipping outbound.
  • Prepares shipment for outbound, banding, wrapping, packaging, labeling.


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Filing, answering phones, warehouse work, packaging, shipping using FedEx and UPS processing computers.
  • Will work with International Shipments.
  • Process Shipping Request forms.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in order to meet department goals.
  • Customer oriented.
  • Will communicate with Motor Freight clients, assign and schedule freight shipments, communicate with Institute staff, Purchasing, Accounting departments.
  • Will process billing for Motor Freight shipments, FedEx and UPS billing.
  • Will work with shipping Hazardous materials.
  • Responsible for maintaining company vehicle and up\keep of those records, keeps record files.
  • Complies with all Safety Regulations and Institute Policies and Procedures.


Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years: Shipping experience. Have some knowledge of working with Hazardous materials. Forklift experience.
  • Be attentive to detail; work accurately under pressure; effectively communicate with Institute staff, vendors, etc., on the telephone and in person; be able to lift and move, sort objects up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Able to work in outside/inside hot and cold temperatures. Be able to use a personal computer, Telephone, copier, fax.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
