Responsibilities:

Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry, has an exciting opportunity available for a Mailroom Clerk in the Birmingham office.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Responsible for USPS mail processing (pickup, sorting, filing, internal delivery, maintenance to processing equipment, certified mail processing, etc.)
  • Provides support to the organization for shipment of goods-US Mail; FedEx (packaging, order processing) or other
  • Data entry in computer for FedEx shipping
  • Provides and coordinates local delivery to and pickup from US Postal facilities
  • Provides coverage in the Shipping/Receiving area
  • Logging in and distribution of FedEx, UPS, and USPS packages
  • Maintains awareness of mechanical condition of Brasfield & Gorrie mail vehicle and arranges for maintenance as needed
  • Sort mail/packages and group into categories for safe handling during delivery to various buildings on campus
  • Provides support for internal delivery of packages, etc., to and from employee offices or other buildings within the corporate campus.
  • Assist employees with weighing packages/envelopes to determine proper postage amount
  • Maintain mailroom in organized manor
  • Must be capable of lifting heavy packages/boxes
  • Provides miscellaneous support for the Maintenance Services Coordinators as requested


Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience:

Education/Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license
  • Two years of work experience in an office service capacity
  • Good communication skills
  • Organizational skills with ability to multitask
  • Possess and maintain a good driving record
