What are the duties of a Job Captain?

  • Able to follow office standards for AutoCAD/Revit and documents
  • Working with X-Refing works and accurate drafting
  • Editing drawings / Picking up red marks
  • Working closely with the Job Captain / Project Manager / Project Architect
  • Able to work with Construction Documents Production Support
  • Able to work with Application Documents Production Support
  • Working with drafting and software training
  • Working with Wood-Frame and Prefabricated Truss Construction
  • Work on / set up standalone enlarged kitchen/bath plans, unit plans, community plans, building plans, roof plans, reflected ceiling plans, finish plan drawings, interior elevations, interior cabinet details
  • Set up plot sheets with CAD Sheet set manager,
  • Participate in SD & DD
  • Create, modify, and document accurate floor plans
  • Design a typical 1BR, 2BR, and 3BR Unit under the direct supervision
  • Rendering 2D & 3D
  • Review QAP document, general understanding of requirements for plans
  • Work on / set up stand-alone exterior elevations, building sections, wall sections, details
  • Modify wall sections/details to be able to create a new one
  • Assessing and determining wall sections next steps
  • Research and apply the accessibility code
  • Day to day assistance with project CA, including preliminary review of shop drawings
  • Able to assess how floor plan changes may impact accessibility and other drawings in the set; coordination with MEP for ceilings/bulkheads
  • Review, understand and apply requirements related to units and building functions.


What are the requirements for candidates?

  • S. or B.A. in Architecture, BArch or MArch required.
  • 2+ years experience with architectural and engineering drawings.
  • MUST demonstrate proficiency in using AutoCAD/Revit and Adobe Suite.
