Primary Functions


Supplier Relations

Develop relationships with suppliers

Meet regularly with suppliers via phone, video meetings, in person

Assist VP Purchasing with negotiating supplier pricing and contracts

Seek and develop new supplier relationships

Attend off site meetings/events (AFPM, associations)

Analyze and report to management supplier related goals, targets, plans, solutions

Engage suppliers to determine market trends

Plan product demand


Data Analysis and Entry

Monitor vendor pricing and maintain current vendor price information

Receive completed purchase orders

Process receiving paperwork and verify products, packaging, and specifications

Execute batch tickets and receivings related to purchasing/toll vendors

Process certificates of analysis in coordination with customer service/lab

Coordinate document requests (CofA, SDS, Specs, Technical Data Sheets, etc.)


Purchase Order Execution

Enter purchase orders based on data analysis and requisitions

Process Purchase Orders with vendors

Follow through with vendors/orders until completion

Ensure vendor pricing and freight terms/costs are accurate throughout process


Logistics

Execute inbound and outbound freight orders with logistics/freight carrier firms

Arrange inbound and outbound shipments with in-house operations

Coordinate inbound and outbound bulk shipments with operations

Participate in daily meetings with VP Purchasing, operations, and customer service


Inventory Management

Continually determine stock quantities to ensure continuity of supply

Coordinate purchase order execution with VP Purchasing

Monitor market conditions and inventory levels to maximize profit


Skills/Qualifications

10 years of prior purchasing experience

Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration or Purchasing/Logistics preferred

Sound communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external clients

Strong analytical, planning, math, MS Excel and organizational skills

Proactive nature with sense of urgency and effective problem-solving skills

Working knowledge of procurement and logistics

Ability to negotiate effectively and honestly with vendors
