Job Duties for the DOS role:


  • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and yearly financial goals
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas, projecting expected sales volume and maximizing profit.
  • Manage and oversee all Sales Team
  • Create, implement and analyze required reports for strategic planning and forecasting including Sales to Target, Percentage to Goal, Revenue Capture, Conversion Rates, Revenue Forecasting.
  • Sales Generation - Build new business opportunities to increase size of potential client database from cold calls and market prospecting to include, but not limited to: Trade Shows, Conventions, Corporations, DMCs, Agencies, meeting planners, venues, non-profit organizations, wedding and social planners, etc
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Develop strategic and promotional plans to drive sales to reach/exceed annual goal. Plan to include strategic initiatives, competitive analysis, insights on new areas of opportunity, etc.
  • Become involved in local and national outside organizations directly related to the hospitality industry (i.e. MPI, PCMA, ILEA, CVB)
  • Responsible for remaining current and knowledgeable of industry trends and developments.
  • Attend local trade shows, participate in sales blitzes and other off-site sales efforts
  • Develop and maintain sound employee relations at all levels, including counseling and disciplining employees and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Oversee "closing" program contracts with problematic clients, qualifying leads, and developing program ideas for leads.
  • Weekly reports to the GM on corporate sales trends, bookings, sales recaps and department productivity
  • Submit monthly reports to GM and COO including, but not limited to: Revenue Forecast and Projected Sales, Revenue Pipeline, Revenue Breakdown, Lost Business and Client Surveys
  • Provide a positive and creative team environment within the sales departments.
  • Understand all operational department responsibilities, capabilities and limitations to smoothly ensure maximum guest satisfaction and operational communication
  • Maintain open communication and handle conflict resolution within inter and intra departments
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.


Qualifications Required:

  • Proven sales leadership experience; hospitality and/or events industry experience is a must.
  • Minimum of seven to ten years sales experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills, organization, financial knowledge and reporting skills, and team building
  • Working knowledge of local and regional markets including but not limited to: Conferences, Trade Shows, Corporate, Non-Profit, Social Events, Galas, Weddings, etc.
  • Experience with different systems and platforms (Google Workplace, Adobe, CRMs, Project Management tools (Asana), Canva, etc)
  • Ability to delegate, follow up, relate to sales team, internal department managers and clients in a positive and effective manner
  • Bachelor s degree preferred.


Physical Demands/Working Environment:

  • Working environment is fast-paced
  • Flexible schedule (days/nights, weekends)
