Pipe Foreman


Job Details

The Pipe Foreman will assist in the supervision of craft activities to assure optimum productivity and construction compliance. The Pipe Foreman will supervise the lay out, assembly and installation of various sizes and types of drain pipe. The Pipe Foreman will study project specifications with Pipe Superintendent to plan sequencing and schedule for pipe installation.


Key Duties

  • Coordinates and supervises daily activities of a 2 7 person crew.
  • Maintain project documentation
  • Establishes and implements daily/weekly and project duration work plans and effectively manage your efforts, laborers, material, and subcontractor control the project.
  • Protect the interests and legal rights of the Company during project execution.
  • Effectively communicate your project specific needs for laborer, rental equipment and subcontractor support.
  • Assist the project manager in developing detailed and complete scope of work for contracts issued to subcontractors.
  • Identify cost impacts resulting from changes to the project scope and construction schedule.
  • Execute labor plans and manpower loading schedules.
  • Daily oversite of yourself and any helpers or laborers assigned to you.
  • Responsible for crew safety. Establishes safe work environment that complies with the Company safety program.
  • Reviews and approves employee time reporting.
  • Maintains professional relationship with Owner.



Qualification Requirements

  • General. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily.   • Education and Experience. This position is not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Pipe Foreman. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with management, fellow employees and Owner. Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience required. Valid North Carolina Driver s license with satisfactory driving record required.


  • Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Pipe Foreman to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


  • Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day. Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.
  • Frequently work with hands extended overhead, sometimes in conjunction with the operation of hand power tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds and, at times, as much as 90 pounds, as may be assigned.
  • Manual dexterity to hand-carry generators, pipe and other construction materials, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Physical dexterity involving stretching, proper placement of legs, and use of arms and hands in repetitive motions.
  • Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
  • Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
  • Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Pipe Foreman encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.


  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
