As a vital member of our 6-person legal team, the Legal Operations Associate will partner directly with the General Counsel and serve as an operational backbone. This role encompasses overseeing day-to-day legal operations, managing long term projects and initiatives, and serving as a Swiss Army knife to the legal function. The ideal candidate will possess a systematic, technology forward approach, impeccable attention to detail, and a willingness to grow alongside our organization. Location: San Francisco, CA - hybrid 4 days in-office.
Responsibilities:
- Spearhead legal functional projects and programs.
- Manage relationships with cross-functional teams, including departments such as Finance, Investor Relations, Talent, and Human Resources, as well as vendor relationships, including outside law firms.
- Plan, organize, and expand our knowledge and records repository.
- Serve as the primary administrator for all legal-related technology and tools within Human Capital.
- Maintain organizational and fund chart management, and draft and maintain decision logs.
- Build, maintain, and report on a departmental budget.
- Contribute to the IT function at Human Capital, including managing our relationship with important outside thought partners.
- Offer deal-making and fundraising support as required.
- Evolve the legal operations function over time to become a strategic/thought partner in systems development and optimization.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in legal ops, as a legal consultant, legal analyst, paralegal, or similar role.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, coupled with exceptional attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Ironclad is a plus.
- Exceptional judgment and demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities while efficiently executing multiple projects.
