Assistant General Manager - Water
The City of Pasadena (pop. 144,000/250,000 daytime) is nestled at the west foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, ten miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. The AGM Water reports to the General Manager and oversees a staff of 101 FTE with a $69 million annual operating budget and a five-year capital budget exceeding $130 million.
The AGM-Water will lead implementation of a recently approved 25-year $430 million capital and water resource plan. The ideal candidate will understand water in Southern California, appreciate the challenges and rare opportunities this position offers, and step into a pivotal role that allows them to be creative and influential. Education and/or experience equivalent to five years of management experience in a comparable utility along with a Bachelors degree is required. Masters degree preferred. Combination of public/private sector experience is acceptable. Experience overseeing major construction projects and addressing aging infrastructure will be considered favorably.
