Position Overview: Title: Mental Health Specialist
Location: Reports to the Health and Wellness Director at Job Corps
Role: This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring our Mental Health Program, which includes staff development and direct mental health counseling for students. This position embodies our dedication to the eight Career Success Standards: workplace relations and ethics, information management, communications, multicultural awareness, personal growth and development, career and personal planning, interpersonal skills, and independent living.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all mental health interns and staff.
  • Advise the Center Director and Health Services staff on mental health matters.
  • Develop and provide staff training on mental health principles and techniques.
  • Coordinate mental health services with other center programs.
  • Deliver direct mental health services and crisis intervention.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines for mental health services.

Requirements:
  • Professional license as a Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist, Psychiatric Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Counselor.
  • State licensing and experience with disadvantaged youth are required.
  • Prefer candidates with Job Corps or similar program experience.
  • Valid State driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong documentation skills and familiarity with regulatory requirements in mental health.
