**Job Summary**

As a successful Buyer, you will be required to procure materials from KJLC qualified suppliers at the lowest cost, whilst maintaining the highest quality and efficiency, as well as supporting and exhibiting the highest standards of ethics and professionalism. This role is perfect for a team player looking for a high paced environment with quick thinking and creative out of the box solutions to in an ever-changing supply chain market.

This role is a full time, permanent position based from our Jefferson Hills location. Post training and onboarding, there will be opportunities for Hybrid Remote Work.

**Key Job Responsibilities:**

* Create and issue purchase orders to satisfy sales orders, production orders, stocking and service requirements.

* Respond to price and delivery requests for non-stocked items as required by the sales, service, test, and production departments.

* Evaluate stocking levels based on historical transactions and sale forecasts to minimize the inventory required to satisfy customers.

* Negotiate with new and existing suppliers to create the best situation for KJLC including product price, lead time, quality, and packaging.

* Utilize inventory management and purchasing programs where possible, such as, JIT, MRP..etc

* Manage vendor relationships. Including but not limited to resolving vendor quality issues, onboarding new vendors, and establishing process improvements for enhanced vendor partnerships.

* Maintain the item master for assigned products, particularly the purchase price, cost price, and lead time fields.

* Maintain the accuracy of the purchase order delivery dates and pricing.

* Deliver performance feedback to the suppliers regarding quality, on-time deliveries, and customer service satisfaction.

* Process returns to vendors for credit, replacement, or repair in a timely manner and when needed.

* Deliver briefs, updates, and reports as and when required

* Develop creative and innovative procurement processes

* Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement

* Partner with the accounting team to ensure financial transaction integrity/accuracy on all purchase orders.

* Ability to read, comprehend and understand drawings, material specifications and BOMs Ensure timely compliance with Company workplace policies and procedures, including human resource policies and safety

**Qualifications**

*Required*

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience

* 1 - 3 years experience and/or education in procurement and inventory management

* Working knowledge of computer programs for word processing, email, and spreadsheets.

* Working knowledge of purchasing techniques including RFQs, blanket orders and product demand discounts that improve strategic costing capabilities.

* Occasional domestic travel for vendor visits 5%-10%

*Preferred*

* Experience in purchasing raw materials (steel, aluminum, sheet stock)

* Working knowledge of ISO 9001

* Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles

* D365 Software experience
