To procure goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for the organization. Responsible for compiling and maintaining records of business transactions and office activities of the Purchasing Department. Responsible for basic order entry and maintenance of purchase orders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promote a safe and accident free workplace

Confer with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule

Review requisitions and places purchase orders

Estimate values according to knowledge of market price

Manage delivery of goods to ensure continuity of supply and adequate inventory levels

Maintain open purchase orders to ensure accuracy of information

Monitor supplier performance and engages with suppliers when appropriate

Keep purchasing records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery information, product quality or performance and inventories

Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality, production, suppliers and others to determine source of issue and take corrective action

Monitor all purchase orders to ensure delivery and cost accuracy in accordance with agreed upon terms

Data entry to maintain purchase order log book

Disseminate performance metrics for department KPIs and vendor scorecards

Maintain current vendor list

General office duties

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Associate Degree in business or equivalent training/experience preferred

Ability to research and interpret data

Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional environment

Knowledge of vendor and product relationships preferred

Detail oriented and familiar with analytical tools and processes

Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times

Ability to work in a self-directed, fast-paced professional environment

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret technical documents

Ability to write routine reports in a professional manner

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole, fractional and decimal numbers.

REASONING ABILITY

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Handle problems involving variables in a standardized situation.

Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Intermediate level of knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Walk, must be able to move about inside the manufacturing and office and occasionally on a construction site or outside of the manufacturing facility

Use hands/fingers to feel, must be able to operate computers, machinery, dimensional equipment

Sit and stand, must be able to work at a stationary desk that may require sitting or standing

Standing on concrete floor and uneven terrain will be required frequently

Talk/hear, must be able to communicate with operators and management frequently and exchange accurate information
