Alexandria Area Adult Basic Education (ABE) Consortium is currently seeking a part-time ABE instructor for its classroom in Alexandria. ABE programming is located on the campus of Alexandria College.Job Summary:This is a rewarding in-person and online teaching position working with adult learners (age 17 or older, no longer enrolled in high school) in the academic areas of GED, Adult High School Diploma, English as a Second Language, Digital Literacy, and Basic Skills instruction in the areas of reading, writing, and math.Responsibilities include lesson planning and instruction, conducting ongoing assessment, monitoring student attendance, collaborating with other staff, and keeping student records.Qualifications:Minnesota Teaching License is requiredExperience with online instruction and a variety of online instructional toolsAbility to engage learners in both the online and in-person learning environmentsEffective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teamsExperience working with multicultural populations and English language learners is preferred, but not requiredDetails:
