General Statement of Job
Under close supervision, operates heavy equipment and utilizes various tools associated with the installation and maintenance of water and sewer services, lines, and accessories. Performs daily maintenance of equipment used.
Minimum Training and Experience
Education: High school diploma or GEDExperience: One to two years of experience in equipment operation, with exposure to leadership responsibilities Certifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license at hire
Preferred:
- Water Distribution certification
- Wastewater Collection certification
- Class III Asbestos Worker
Note:The City retains the right to determine equivalencies.
Any certifications not possessed at hire, must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City.
Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate an automobile, dump truck, vactor truck, dresser loader, crane truck, backhoe, ling belt, trencher, compressor, and numerous small tools and equipment. Must be able to exert in excess of one hundred pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of fifty pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of twenty pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to two hundred pounds.
