Description

This is a vital role at Answers in Genesis in the Product Sales and Distribution. This candidate is resourceful, team-oriented, highly analytical thinkers who can turn their thoughts into actions. Merchandise Managers are extremely disciplined and goal-oriented, which helps them achieve the goals at hand. The Merchandise Manager is responsible for helping the store achieve its sales and profit goals by creating and maintaining an aesthetically pleasing store. Also included in this is to be able to manage the visual merchandisers, and coach store associate and Manager on how to merchandise the areas. Support key sales driving initiatives by creating impactful presentations of this product. AIG is seeking a Merchandise Manager to manage the development and growth of products and resources sales for all retail spaces located within Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. Responsibilities include collaborating cross functionally to achieve service, growth, and profit objectives, assisting and supporting the product team efforts in all aspects of design, development, system support, quality issues, inventory management and product line data analysis for product in their assigned categories. To lead their team to deliver results in a vast array of fast-paced and dynamic arenas. To consistently analyze the needs of each store location and make plans to fill those needs.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare schedules and reports as needed for Senior Management. Locate and compile information and format reports, graphs, tables, records, and other sources of information.
  2. Manage coordinating multiple displays and planograms from conception to production working closely with AiG personnel, designers, print shop, outside vendors, and Director of Project Management to ensure deadlines are met.
  3. Lead and inspire the visual merchandising team, delivering training and managing performance.
  4. Coordinate for special events/seasons and implement for the stores.
  5. Prioritize and administer multiple tasks simultaneously and follow through independently on issues in a timely manner.
  6. Manage and maintain all planogram projects using project management software.
  7. Ensures merchandise process is flawlessly executed.
  8. Responsible for merchandising, signing, and resets.
  9. Collaborate with retail supervisors and management regarding store issues.
  10. Drive store sales and controls expenses.
  11. Uses financial reporting to drive business opportunities.
  12. Sets and maintains merchandising protocols and procedures.
  13. Sets and maintains Marketing Plan, Signage, and other Merchandise Sets
  14. Ensures the execution of company inventory process.
  15. Assists in receiving and stocking procedures including setting min/max.
  16. Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and places/removes merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet and ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock. Frequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop in the stock room and on the sales floor.
  17. Understand and reflect customer preferences through excellent product and resource presentation.
  18. Champion visual merchandising best practices to influence the customer journey.
  19. Manage the launch of new visual merchandising campaigns effectively. Stages merchandise for the sales floor.
  20. Provide feedback on successful product lines and trends.
  21. Share visual merchandising best practices with other staff.
  22. Maintain communication with store management on display changes and replenishment.
  23. Manage cost control initiatives related to stock and visual merchandising equipment.
  24. Assist in day-to-day problem solving and user support, coordinating efforts to increase efficiency and communication.
  25. Assist with product and vendor research.
  26. Assist with Inventory maintenance and reordering.
  27. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education & Experience
  1. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other productivity tools.
  2. High School Graduate or equivalent.
  3. Minimum 2 years of management experience
