Assistant to the Controller

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Assistant Controller with Office Administration Responsibilities. This role will support the Controller in managing financial activities while also overseeing various office administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management:

    • Assist the Controller in preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets.
    • Perform reconciliations of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
    • Help with the analysis of financial data and preparation of forecasts.
    • Support in ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  2. Office Administration:

    • Oversee office administrative tasks such as managing office supplies, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence.
    • Maintain office policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations.
    • Assist in organizing company events and employee engagement activities.
    • Manage office facilities and liaise with building management when necessary.
    • Assist with recruiting, hiring and onboarding
  3. Benefits Administration:

    • Assist in processing payroll and ensuring accuracy.
    • Support in administering employee benefits programs.
    • Assist with inquiries related to payroll and benefits from employees.
  4. Documentation and Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and administrative records.
    • Organize and maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
  5. Compliance and Regulation:

    • Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to financial reporting and office administration.
    • Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and accounting software.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience in office administration or related field is a plus.
