Chameleon Technologies is working with our direct client to fill their Staff Accountant position. This is a hybrid position, with 3x a week onsite in Tukwila. Target salary is $55-$65K DOE. Looking for candidates with a strong background in journal entries, working with a line of credit, and city/state taxes.
Chameleon Technologies is searching for a Staff Accountant for a hybrid role in Tukwila, WA.
OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
To support the Controller and management in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department and ensure that the company is meeting all tax and compliance regulations.
SUMMARY:
Audit and update accounting data, prepare monthly and quarterly tax returns, maintain licensing requirements and assist with special projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Duties directly related to job title:
- Compile data needed for financial statements and taxes. Includes reconciling bank accounts, adjusting accounts for interest, deferred and prepaid rent, depreciating assets and allocating costs and sales as needed.
- Create and/or utilize tools to administer daily/monthly tasks.
- Maintain records required by state and federal agencies.
- Monitor current tax and compliance laws and regulations and work with Controller to update policies and procedures to maintain company compliance
- Audit financial activities to verify that information is entered accurately and that policies and procedures are adhered to.
- File city and state B&O and Payroll tax returns.
- Audit and reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, pricing and billing.
- Update Property lists for county taxes.
- Perform daily journal entries and distribution of internal reports.
- Assist in Budget preparations and maintenance.
- Balance Sheet - G/L reconciliations (monthly).
- Work with Controller with analytics and company reports.
- Work with Controller to provide the accounting department with procedures and training needed to meet customer service and tax requirements and accomplish accurate data reporting.
- Audit services to ensure that taxes are billed appropriately to customers.
- Oversee asset purchases and records.
- Work with management on special projects.
- Oversee business and corporation licensing renewals.
- Other Duties as assigned
Ancillary duties:
- Be familiar with all accounting systems, including Dynamics GP and customer-facing applications.
- Back up AP and AR staff as needed.
- Train staff as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years experience
- Experience with Microsoft office products and other accounting programs.
- Ability to organize information, prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to work closely with others and delegate tasks.
- Must be a fast learner, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Must be flexible and willing to take on non-accounting projects as requested
Target salary is $55-$65K DOE and benefits package is offered (but no relocation assistance).
