Job Summary:
Support the execution of experiments and the daily operation of the R&D lab. Perform routine laboratory activities based on established procedures. Help maintain lab equipment and analytical devices.
- Supports R&D projects through execution of routine lab activities based on established procedures
- Performs general lab support activities, including cleaning glassware and autoclave operations
- Inventories and stocks lab supplies
- Assists with laboratory organization initiatives
- Communicates effectively within the R&D team
- Maintains safety compliance in the laboratory
Upstream - must be able to execute the following tasks;
- Daily monitoring and sampling of bioreactor cultures
- Standard analytical equipment calibration (i.e. pH probes)
- Aseptic technique and inoculum culture expansion
- Preparation and filtration of media and buffer solutions
- Primary recovery of cell culture, including centrifugation, filtration, concentration
Downstream - must be able to execute the following tasks;
- Preparation and filtration of media and buffer solutions
- Column Packing and Qualification (HETP/Asymmetry)
- Column Chromatography
- UF/DF (TFF) - batch mode or single-pass
- Basic sample handling and analytical techniques (eg. pH, conductivity, protein concentration measurements)
- Process Analytical Scientist must be able to execute the following tasks;
- Standard analytical equipment calibration (i.e. pH & Conductivity Probes)
- Preparation and filtration of media and buffer solutions
- Basic protein analytical techniques (HPLC, iCE, SDS-PAGE)
- Data analysis of basic protein analytical techniques
Key Requirements
Associate of Science degree in Biological Sciences, or similar science background
Experience with aseptic technique highly desired
Ability and willingness to learn new skills
Self-motivated and self-directed
Effective communication skills
