1. Job Summary
Engineer, design, specify and select rotating equipment typically utilized in the petrochemical and refining industries
Develop customer proposals for new equipment and based on customer specifications, operating conditions, industry standards, etc.
Manage projects and order statuses to meet customer delivery requirements
Routinely communicate with internal and external customers regarding project status, potential or necessary changes, improvement or optimization opportunities, etc.
Requires the handling of multiple tasks with the potential for unexpected interruptions
2. Experience & Education
A degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred
Experience in an industrial environment preferably an industrial internship
Experience with 2D or 3D CAD drafting / design software is preferred
In the absence of a degree, experience in a similar role in the chemical, petrochemical, refining or oil & gas industries may be considered
A non-degreed candidate with a high mechanical aptitude may be considered
3. Typical Duties & Responsibilities
Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position.
Receive phone calls and emails from external & internal customers which must be handled on a timely basis. Information handled will typically include RFQ s, technical assistance/support, equipment manufacturer support, technical product support, delivery expediting, etc.
Manage multiple project inquiries and project quotations
Facilitate customer application requirements for their assembly, sizing and product selection
Understand and ensure that the JHC TCC (Total Customer Commitment) standards are upheld at all times
Actively and enthusiastically attend required and preferred training
Participate in an after-hours and weekend On-Call rotation
Actively and enthusiastically support JHC colleagues at all times, and especially when overload situations arise
Accurately complete quotes, order entry and purchase orders
Always build and cultivate solid relationships
Remain alert and aware of surroundings at all times, regardless of location
Some travel may be required
