Job Details

Under the general oversight of the Manager of Inspection of the Gaming Commission and the direct supervision of the Lead Inspector, the incumbent protects Tribal assets and maintains the integrity of the gaming operation by observing the gaming operation and reports any deviation from the Gaming Procedures, Standards of Operation and Management, Ordinance and Government or Tribal laws. Two (2) years of college required. Three (3) years of related experience in accounting, law enforcement or other related area, using observation skills may substitute for college requirement. Computer skills must include the ability to navigate through standard operating systems, create and save documents, have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel applications. Must maintain independence in mental attitude and is required to perform his/her duties without bias. Must be intellectually honest; free from any obligation to the MPGE, its staff or management. Must avoid any circumstance where a reasonable person might conclude that the Inspector's independence has been compromised. Must be highly professional. Must be able to perform his/her duties in view of the general public and under the scrutiny of the MPGE or Government agencies. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to learn, understand and apply the provisions of the Standards of Operation and Management and all other regulations governing the rules and conduct of authorized games, odds, gaming equipment and devices; negotiable transactions involving Casino patrons; procedures (forms and methods of Casino management controls); Casino security standards. Incumbent is required to possess a driver's license; must have suitable background to obtain State Gaming License. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The environment is that of a casino dealing with the general public in a fast-paced atmosphere with a moderate amount of noise and smoke All Inspectors are considered essential personnel. Their work schedules will cover the activities of the casino 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including holidays) and regardless of inclement weather. May be required to work mandatory overtime including working more than 40 hours per week or working past the scheduled end of their shift.
