**Job Summary**

The Janitor cleans and keeps in an orderly condition factory working areas and washrooms, or premises of an office, apartment house, or commercial or another establishment. Duties involve a combination of the following: Sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms.

**Primary Duties**

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. **Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.** These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

* Responsible for the daily cleaning of the students rooms to include making the bed/changing the linen, cleaning and sanitizing the sinks and bathrooms, removal of trash, dusting, vacuuming, replacing used towels, and the cleanliness of all common areas on a daily basis.

* Responsible for shampooing the carpet and rotating mattresses.

* Receive training on various equipment utilized in the process of daily housekeeping tasks.

* Training utilized to operate floor buffer machine and scrubber machine to clean rugs around the building.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications: Education, Experience and Certification(s)**

* High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent preferred.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

* Knowledge of materials, and supplies used in cleaning.

* Knowledge of proper disposal or chemicals and other items

* Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.

* Skilled in operation of basic cleaning tools and equipment.

**Physical Demands**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee may occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The ability to travel in support of the Organizations mission.
