Working in partnership with school districts, other agencies, and families, the Inyo County Office of Education staff supports quality education for all students. Must hold a Teaching Credential or be willing to obtain an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit. To qualify for an emergency permit, the applicant must possess a Bachelors Degree or higher and met the Basic Skills Requirement (* Passage of SB 1397 has temporarily waived the Basic Skills Requirement from January 1, 2023, to July 1, 2024. Basic skills proficiency will once again be required for the initial issuance of the Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit after July 1, 2024.)
Please attach the following: Credential (If Applicable) Verification of meeting Basic Skills Requirement Transcripts Resume (Optional) CPR Certification (If applicable) Immunization Record (including proof of Measles, Pertusis, and Influeza) (for preschool assignments)

The following Inyo County School Districts and Programs hire substitute teachers from this eligiblity pool: Round Valley Elementary, Bishop Unified, Big Pine Unified, Owens Valley Unified, Lone Pine Unified and the Inyo County Office of Education Alternative Education, Child Development and Special Education Programs.
