Technology Warehouse Specialist - School Year


Job Details

Primary Purpose:

Provide logistical support for technology systems district-wide.

Assist with the operation of the technology helpdesk and provide technical support to technology related systems in use district wide.

Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Tomball ISD.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification High school diploma or GED required.

Relevant technology certification and experience preferred.

Special Knowledge/Skills Effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and telephone etiquette skills.

Ability to organize and maintain a warehouse of technology equipment.

Ability to provide support remotely via phone, email, chat, or remote desktop software. Ability to understand operation of district standard equipment.

Ability to set priorities and handle multiple and complex assignments.

Working knowledge of maintaining software/hardware technologies.

Working knowledge of network configurations, topologies, and installation.

Knowledge of network configurations, topologies, and cabling.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide friendly and responsive service and support to all stakeholders.

Operate the technology warehouse, which includes maintaining inventory, receiving new equipment, delivering equipment to campuses, and maintaining technology asset disposal. Provide helpdesk support for staff, students, and the Tomball ISD community via phone, email, chat, remote desktop software, or in-person.

Provide technical support for network, telephone, and physical security equipment, software, and cabling.

Work cooperatively with district staff and external vendors to implement new systems/services and resolve issues.

Provide regular updates and status reports to the appropriate supervisor.

Complete a written record of every service call.

Contribute to an accurate inventory of all Technology systems and services in use district-wide.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology Services.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Strenuous walking, standing, bending, climbing, heavy lifting, and moving up to 45 pounds. Work may occur inside or outside with exposure to hot and cold temperatures.

Requires work at elevated heights, in confined spaces, and on uneven surfaces.

Prolonged sitting and use of the computer.

Repetitive hand motions Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.

Regular district-wide travel in a district vehicle.
