Job Details
We are seeking a Head of Legal to join our client's growing Legal department, within the renewable space. You will lead a team in providing legal advice for project and corporate matters including; tax equity transactions and M&A activities for various renewable energy projects, such as, wind, solar and storage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the legal strategy to support the company's objectives in developing and operating renewable energy projects.
- Lead negotiations for complex agreements specific to renewable energy projects, including PPAs, EPCs, leases, and NDAs.
- Provide guidance on corporate governance matters specific to the renewable energy industry, including board meetings, shareholder relations, and corporate transactions.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance for all project agreements.
- Lead and manage in-house lawyers and advise senior executives
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external legal counsel, government agencies, and industry associations.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, with admission to at least one U.S jurisdiction.
- 8+ years PQE with 4 years experience in renewables is preferable.
- Proven leadership skills and management experience.
- Experience across corporate governance, and M&A activities for renewable projects.
- Strong understanding of project finance concepts and structures.
- Willingness to travel.
