Additionally, we are seeking multiple Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMCH) in Worcester and entry-level and tenured LCSWs for the Jamaica Plains (Boston) facility. Below are the descriptions for all of the roles.


LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR

Location: Worcester, MA 01605

Start: ASAP

Duration: 3 months, contract

Shift: 8:00a 4:30p

Parking: Available

Pay: $70/hr

License Requirements - LMHC

A licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) is a professional who treats the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional aspects of mental health and substance use conditions. LMHCs work with individuals, families, couples, and groups in a variety of settings. LMHCs have a master's degree in mental health counseling or psychology and are licensed by the state. LMHCs use psychotherapy and individual interventions to help patients through mental wellness issues.


Responsibilities:

  • individualized care and treatment, including psychotherapy, consistent with age and life span developmental needs of patients.
  • and updates bio-psychosocial assessments and treatment plans, and implements interventions to address barriers to discharge.
  • discharge planning meetings, develops release plans, and refers patients for services in the community.
  • crisis intervention and assists families in understanding mental illness, including providing family support groups.
  • documentation in compliance with standards, provides training and supervision, participates in quality improvement, and represents patient needs in meetings.


Qualifications:

Master's Degree and Licensure in Mental Health Counseling is required.

2 years' experience in inpatient environment with severe and persistent mentally ill.


Facility Information:

  • The 320 bed recovery center and hospital serve 260 adults and 60 adolescents through an innovative design and provides a state of the art environment for patients and staff. It is a lock down facility with appropriate safety protocols in place due to the diverse client population they serve at this facility. This inpatient facility is open 24 hours.


LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

Schedule: M-F, 8:30am 5:00pm

Start: ASAP

Location: Jamaica Plain, MA 02130

Duration: Temp to hire with possibility of direct hire/immediate perm placement


The Department is seeking a dynamic human services professional to serve as Inpatient Clinical Social Worker in a fast-moving, exciting, and rewarding environment. This professional will provide direct clinical care and care coordination services at the inpatient psychiatric hospital units. The incumbent of this position will provide high quality and timely assessment, treatment planning and implementation and discharge planning to an assigned caseload of patients who carry diagnoses of serious mental illness (SMI).


Will be handling patient intake, patient discharge and daily patient maintenance/visits.


Responsibilities:

  • concise and diagnostically accurate psychosocial evaluations for patients with serious mental illness as per CMS regulations and TJC standards.
  • and coordinate disposition plans in conjunction with the treatment team, taking into account developmental, racial, cultural, and ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity issues that impact a patient's aftercare needs.
  • focused treatment through individual and group counseling.
  • consultation and education to patients' families and community support, as appropriate, in order to enhance the patient's return to the community.
  • in regularly scheduled morning rounds, team meetings, case conferences, and social services meetings; and attend case conferences as needed in the community.
  • the Department within multidisciplinary team, attend unit leadership meetings, clinical management and other meetings as assigned.
  • and facilitate treatment planning meetings and periodic reviews in an efficient and timely fashion.


Required Qualifications:

  • be a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social worker (LICSW).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • and experience of inpatient mental health treatment and services.

  • of and experience utilizing Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission (TJC) regulations and standards.


Work Environment:

Locked psychiatric unit - Long-term facility where they house population with chronic mental health issues, change tends to be slow, and most patients are there for 3 years or more.
