Overview: DevOps Engineer

This position is based in Canada (excluding Quebec) or the United States.
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with solid Linux System Administration skills to join our operations team.
Some of What You Will Do:
- Maintain, configure and monitor Linux systems using infrastructure as code principals in development, test and production environments
- Participate in an on-call rotation managing incidents and performing root cause analysis
- Maintain and refine existing continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools
- Champion uptime, reliability, compliance and observability while working closely with engineering teams
- Provide product engineering feedback on features & functions based on your field experience.
- Work closely with Customer Support to handle escalations requiring engineering support and then help improve the product to prevent those issues from repeating.
Some of What You Will Need:
- Experience in Linux system administration
- Knowledge of Linux, CI/CD tools, Configuration Management tools (e.g. Nix, Salt), Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform) and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Microsoft)
- Proficiency in working on remote systems and on the Linux command line
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction as well as part of a team
- Ability to deliver on multiple, concurrent goals
- Highly flexible and adaptable to the rapidly changing business requirements of an early startup
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and time management skills
Bonus Experience:
- SaaS Startup Experience, preferably in cybersecurity
- Database Administration
- Understanding of Security and Compliance Frameworks (eg. SOC-2, ISO27001)
- Programming experience with Go
- Functional programming experience
- Experience with Nix and NixOS
- Experience in the security industry

Qualifications:
- 5+ years industry experience
- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
