The company maintains engineering and manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe and Asia as part of its strategy to provide customers with global reach and local support. We are searching for an important addition to its Griffin, GA team an experienced CAD Tool Designer with high energy, ambition, willingness to learn, and communication skills.


Job Scope: Responsible for executing the company's design needs, primarily, the design of product, tools and equipment for all stages of product life cycle. Position requires utilization of CAE/CAD skills and expertise in mold and mechanical design functions.


Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • To accurately and efficiently design and create drawings for products molds, finishing tools and manufacturing equipment.
  • Consider all S.M.E.D., ergonomic, safety, and economic issues in all assignments.
  • Lead the design definition of new products in conjunction with commercial, engineering, and manufacturing elements.
  • Provide design and technical support to New Product Development engineers in the product realization process.
  • Work closely with internal and external tooling suppliers in support of design and print revision activities.
  • Support team activities including the establishment and implementation of tooling standardization.
  • Track and manage all projects in terms of timing.
  • Actively participate in 5S program by achieving and consistently maintaining 3S in personal work area. Participate in rotating 5S schedule as auditor for local facility and owner for local common areas.


Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of an A.S. in an area of Design Technology (drafting/CAD/CAE) or 10 plus years experience in the design/CAD field.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology is desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Injection Molding.
  • Experience with Rubber molding and elastomeric tooling desired.
