Job Description:

  • Daily operational hands-on network duties working with Layer 1-7 switching, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, GLBP/HSRP, and load balancing (Cisco L2/L3 switches, F5 load balancers).
  • Demonstrated experience with routing and switching VLANs, tunnelling, spanning tree, trunking.
  • Strong technical background and in-depth knowledge of delivering complex solutions using industry best practices and methods.
  • Responsible for handling offshore and onsite activities.
  • Should be able to actively participate in network devices up-gradation and degradation as per the business requirement.
  • Implement and Maintain Existing & future Data Centre Networks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
  • Responsible for ongoing support/troubleshooting of configuration in a 24x7 environment.
  • Assisting Client in network LAN & WAN failover Drills, network changes as per change management process.
  • Communicate technical vulnerabilities and remediation steps to developers and management and take necessary actions.
  • Ensure the Infrastructure team has the appropriate information and skills to successfully administer and support the network environment.
  • Develop, monitor, and report the appropriate metrics to measure network performance and availability and to identify necessary improvements.
  • Responsible for handling Meraki routers.
  • Handling Escalated Incidents and providing resolution until customer satisfaction.
  • Coordination with TAC OEM for raising the RMA for faulty hardware and buggy behaviour of the devices.
  • Attending CAB calls with internal/external stakeholders to understand Business requirements to attain good CSAT in both SA/SD.
  • Administrating the network enforcement of security by creating the access polices for endpoint devices connected routers and switches and WLCs.
  • Provide second/third level technical support for ACI (Application Centric infrastructure) and APIC technologies.

Requirements:
  • Provide technical direction on evolving corporate business requirements and strategic IT program.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate current business systems and formulate new system designs to further enhance business strategies.
  • Research, integrate, and implement network management applications to assist with network troubleshooting.
  • Ensure best practices are implemented and maintained concerning network development, upgrades, and security patches.
  • Develop and maintain all system related documentation regarding the network, including disaster recovery, installation, and data recovery procedures.
  • Assist the Network Services Network Engineering Group with L2/L3 troubleshooting and configuration of the WAN/LAN.
  • Provide night and weekend support for the network maintenance activities/troubleshooting issues as well as 7x24 hour onsite and pager technical support as needed.
  • Depending upon the issue, may provide second tier support for DC Systems Coordinators and remote users in the DCs.
  • Log all activity for assistance utilizing a trouble ticketing system, for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Demonstrates high analytical skills and is self-motivated/directed.
  • Develops and contributes to policies, standards and procedures, and documentation of best practices/process improvements.
  • Demonstrates strategic foresight while employing hands-on technical skills on projects and work assignments.
  • Delivers by possessing productivity, professionalism, customer service attitude, attention to detail and quality; ability to multitask; team focus, strong interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and adherence to Firms standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrates ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and ability to take direction from multiple areas.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and experience with technical infrastructure
  • Understands and operates within agreed SLAs.

Skills Required
  • Advanced knowledge in switching and routing (CCNP level or above) and F5 load balancers.
  • Proven background and experience in designing, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise networks and large size of data centres.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and deliver on commitments.
  • Experience designing and administering networks for an insurance company.
  • Experience with global networks and FHRP (First Hop Redundancy Protocol), Dynamic routing protocols, MPLS technologies
  • Expert knowledge of: Cisco routers and switches (IOS and Nexus)
  • Load balancing traffic and engineering for automatic failover
  • Layer 3 Experience: OSPF and BGP Routing including route redistribution.
