As an Assistant Merchandiser, you will play a key role in driving the planning, forecasting and trading of each seasons range using your strong analysis skills. Looking at previous sales to plan for the future, youll support the Merchandiser to achieve agreed sales and profit targets and work with the Assistant Buyer to support the creation of each range.

*Please note this role is primarily based in one of our head office locations (Falmouth or Redruth) with occasional remote working.*

**You'll help us by:**

* Collating information for the Range Plan, for all sales channels, and provide to the Merchandiser. Assisting with line level forecasting based on historical sales

* Actualising and forecasting line cards, making recommendations to place new orders.

* Proactively identifying product blocks to create forecasting models

* Assessing channel performance, key driving categories, best and worst selling lines and suggesting appropriate course of action to merchandiser to maximise sales.

* Ensuring all relevant tasks are completed in line with the Critical Path including issuance of accurate supplier purchase orders.

* Applying in-depth knowledge of trading reviewing sales, reacting to performance, considering external factors, managing risk and maximising best sellers.

* Creating price change models (either markdown or promo), under the supervision of Merchandiser, as a reaction to current trade.

* Working with the Merchandiser to build and update relevant seasonal reports.

* Supporting the Merchandiser in collating all relevant information to monitor the departmental margin, commitment and intake phasing.

* Developing Allocators & Merchandising Assistants as future Assistant Merchandisers to be able to maximise internal progression.

**The skills you'll be sharing with the team:**

With previous experience in a merchandising function as an Allocator, Assistant Merchandiser or above, you will have knowledge of working to a Critical Path. Retail experience would also be advantageous.

You will need to be highly numerate and will be competent working with data and Excel. The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment will be key and you will have a strong team work ethic, be well organised and will be a confident communicator.

With strong commercial aptitude and excellent problem solving skills, you will have a desire to support and train others.
