The position of Safety Manager provides a professional service role dedicated to the identification and

management of safety and health risks on behalf of Midwest Construction. The Safety Manager will engage

cross-functionally with every department, leader and team member in the company as well as members or

representatives of our subcontractors, customers, and the general public. The following are all considered

primary job responsibilities:

? Identify, manage, and implement organizational safety and health initiatives, and opportunities,

through regular field audits and discussion with the management team.

? Plan and manage training programs for the organization.

? Manage the organization's administrative and record-keeping functions related to safety and

health.

This is a people-centered role in a fast paced, high risk work environment. Therefore, this position requires a person

who gravitates towards problem solving through personal interaction, has experience with culture change

management, is highly professional, a gifted communicator, and problem solver.

Potential candidates should also have an ability to effectively prioritize and manage project load. This position

requires a candidate who is highly effective at problem solving in both team and individual settings. The ideal

candidate for this position must be able to manage work time effectively, have a high level of hazard recognition and

mitigation experience, have a passion for sending team members and those on our projects home safely, proficiently

navigate office-based software (Excel, Outlook, Word, PPT, etc), has experience with root causation, and safety

program writing and development. The right person for this role will be passionate about teaching and training

others while continuing to develop personally, organized, has a high level of personal accountability as well as the

ability to hold others accountable to a high level of achievement.

**Some expected responsibilities include:**

? Manage safety performance for the organization

? Safety Audit field visits

? Safety meeting facilitation and attendance

? Incident investigations

? Safety Topic program development (assessing, writing, training)

? Develop and present training programs

? Manage and audit data in the safety database system

? Own and execute assigned projects and program topics

? Self-reliant safety practitioner

**Safety Manager Position Qualifications:**

? 3-5+ Years of Experience Preferred

? Experience with change management

? Experience in Microsoft Office Suite

? Experience in project management

? Excellent communication skills

? Familiar with forms of media and technology

? Organizational skills, with projects, people, and idea

? Experience managing a system safety approach

? Experience in dynamic work environments/industries
