Job Description

TITLE: FOOD SERVICE WORKER

DEFINITION:

Under the general supervision of the Food Service Supervisor, performs the duties
necessary to receive, record data, and hand out the daily breakfast and/or lunch meals.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Performs the general duties necessary to receive, and hand out breakfast and/or lunch
meals relating to the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.
* Performs all necessary clean-up for all lunch tables.
* Performs related work as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of:
* Proper office practices and procedures.
* Correct English grammar and spelling.
* Health and sanitation issues related to handling food.

Ability to:
* Follow written and/or verbal directions of the Food Service Worker I & II.
* Relate positively to students, staff and the public.
* Maintain the confidentiality of school-related information.
* Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
* Lift 40 pounds.

Experience:
* One year experience working with children or in youth related activities.

Education:
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Red Cross recognized first aid certificate or successful completion of a first aid course
within three months after employment.

Desirable Qualifications:
* Ability to communicate in Spanish.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires a pre-placement physical, fingerprinting and CPR/First aid. CPR/First Aid can be obtained during the first 3 months of employment. Please submit your letter of introduction and resume. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
