**Responsibilities**
**JOB TITLE: Weekend Cook**
Cedar Grove RTC, located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is a 45-bed CARF-accredited facility that treats young men, ages 11-17, who are struggling with Sexual/or mental health issues. As a Weekend Cook you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of the residents through culinary skills.
Our facility and our wooded setting create a secure, therapeutic environment for students to gain a new outlook on their lives, learn how to manage their triggers, and start blazing their trails for success.
**JOB SUMMARY**
Prepares and cooks meals for students/residents/employees of the facility by performing the following duties.

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
____1. Demonstrates knowledge of proper food preparation including receiving, storing, handling, and following recipes.
____2. Prepares and serves food in quantities according to menu, number of people to be served, and portion control.
____3. Demonstrates knowledge and assures maintenance of modified diets as instructed.
____4. Uses accepted techniques in handling, preparation and serving food to clients and employees.
____5. Receives, inspects and properly stores all supplies entering Food Service Department.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
The work environment for this position is a residential facility setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to residents who may ask inappropriate personal questions, display socially unacceptable personal behaviors, use profanity and sexually-explicit phrases, make insulting remarks or threats regarding appearance, age, sex, or race, and exhibit defiance, dishonesty, and assaultive or self-destructive behaviors.
