ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Sort and bundle sewn items and covers in accordance with production schedule to allow upholstery to meet their daily production schedule. Fabric varies from cloth to leather.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Must learn to read and understand daily production schedule to accurately bundle daily requirements.
Learn styles to identify different covers and colors for respective styles/parts.
Use label gun to identify all parts.
Place identification label on card/tag.
Place ticket with the work order number on the bundle.
Place the bundled sewn parts in the rack for the filling department.
Check cut & sewn pieces for any defects that do not meet Southern Motion's quality standards.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Self-monitor production throughout the day to maintain the required level of production.
Communicates with supervisor needed on questions or problems that occur while performing job.
Maintain clean and organized workstation.
Assist others when necessary.

Immediately report any work-related injury or illness.
Keep the work area neat and free of hazards. THE USE OF COMPRESSED AIR WITHOUT PROPER SAFETY NOZZLE IS PROHIBITED FOR CLEAN-UP.
Wear the required footwear and personal protective equipment.
Always ensure proper lifting techniques: avoid bending and twisting at the waist whenever possible.
Inspect hand tools and protective equipment before use.
Learn the hazards of the equipment and procedures used on the job.
Participate in safety training and safety meetings.
Report any hazards or risks related to policies or procedures.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

SAFETY

Personal Protection Equipment should be worn at all times within the department as well as throughout the plant where designated.
Safety is enforced each day to prevent any accidents.
