A compassionate non-profit organization that is dedicated to creating change and giving a voice to older children in the foster care system is searching for a passionate and dedicated Non-Profit Program Manager to coordinate and host monthly adoption and informational events aimed at recruiting host families and enhancing program visibility. This is a remote/hybrid position that is based in Virginia, where you will spend half your time remote and half your time at meetings, trainings, networking, weekend outreach and connection events in the Northern, Northeast, and Near Southwest regions. Your time will be filled with meaningful networking and training activities that focus solely on making these events a success! Your primary responsibility will be to connect compassionate families with youth aged 9-17, fostering lasting bonds and bright futures. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm, offering a unique opportunity to directly impact the lives of foster children and their prospective families.

Pay Range: $70, 000 - $75, 000 DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and host family training and monthly connection events, focusing on adoption and informational sessions to recruit host families and spread mission awareness
  • Collaborate with government partners and local foster family agencies to enhance the program's presence and credibility
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and corporate entities to support program goals
  • Oversee the referral, tracking, and matching process of children with host families, including organizing introductory meetings, to ensure a smooth and effective process
  • Spearhead recruitment efforts focusing on diverse families, providing training and support to potential host families to foster inclusive environments
  • Manage communications and outreach efforts, representing the program in various forums, including conferences and media, to maximize program visibility and impact
  • Conduct individual youth advocacy, emphasizing storytelling and photography to share the experiences and needs of foster youth
  • Oversee data collection for program evaluation and marketing to measure success and guide future strategies
  • Supervise program team activities and volunteer coordinators, overseeing one Coordinator and two Interns, with a role in hiring these positions to build a strong support team
  • Participate in grant writing and fundraising activities to secure the necessary resources for program operations and expansion

Requirements:
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience, with at least five years focused on youth and families in the child welfare system
  • MSW, MSSW, or MSSA degree is required
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting adoptive families and conducting outreach, showcasing a proven track record of engaging communities and fostering connections
  • Proven ability to facilitate trauma-focused child welfare training and work with foster youth aged 9-17, ensuring that all interactions and interventions are sensitive to and supportive of the needs of these young people
  • Strong leadership experience managing people, events, and volunteers, with the capability to oversee a team to deliver high-impact programs
  • High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Office 365, virtual meeting platforms, and social media, to effectively manage program operations and communications
  • Candidates must live in Virginia
