Description

Summary

The Manager, Graphic Design is mid-level, individual contributor position responsible for the creation of high impact visual design work across print and digital mediums in support of various communications initiatives, collateral needs, and event materials. The ideal candidate will have a portfolio or samples demonstrating their design skills across various mediums.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Create new and original designs and execute file production from beginning to end. Materials include (but are not limited to) reports, infographics, brochures, banners, email templates, newsletters, internal communications, posters, signage, social media graphics and event branding.
  • Project manages all design work from initial concepting through production, approval process, and delivery.
  • Ensuring copy and graphics work in a cohesive manner to drive desired outcomes. (Copy provided from internal or freelance sources.)
  • Manage multiple assignments and internal clients simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and maintaining design quality and content accuracy.
  • Create and maintain files for all creative assets and resources.
  • Assist in implementation of new image library, including building out assets, identifying gaps and monitoring asset expiration dates over time.
  • Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize creativity and excellence in performance and delivery.
  • Supervise freelancers, agency partners and vendors as needed, working within budget and time parameters.
  • Maintain brand consistency and adhere to brand guidelines. Recommend new ways to enhance the CLIA brand.
  • Stay current in design and production trends and implement new ideas or tools as appropriate.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • Four (4) years of digital production/design experience
  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in studio art, graphic design, or other relevant concentration
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of graphic design and layout techniques
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a geographically dispersed team and independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to confidently communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing to a variety of internal audience levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in completing assignments accurately, with quality work and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, and HTML.
  • Photo and video editing experience a plus.

Work Environment
  • This position is based in our DC office as part of a hybrid work environment with 1-2 days in the office and 3-4 days remote currently. Candidate must be open to this evolving, including returning to in office full-time in the future.
  • Fast paced, professional office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Frequent use of Teams/Zoom video conferencing with colleagues.
  • Must be able to use a computer at a workstation for extended periods of time and to accommodate potentially frequent interruptions.

Required Travel
  • Ability to travel (approximately 15%) as needed over the course of the year.
